Jean-Paul Philippon founded JP Drafting Ltd. in 1998, bringing to bear his plus thirty years in steel fabrication and a powerful desire to blend that experience with his vision of what could be accomplished with computer technologies.

A pioneer in the application of CAD programs in detailing for his fabrication company, Jean-Paul travelled around North America, searching for the next best thing. What he found and adopted was a specialized steel drafting program called XSteel, that had been developed by Tekla. With the acquisition of XSteel, JP Drafting Ltd. was poised to take steel detailing to a new level.

Our Market is Growing

With this new advanced capability, JP Drafting Ltd. set out to attract new customers. Jean-Paul was already well known in the steel industry, and soon after announcing our new capabilities, our business took off. We were offering better quality drawings, with greater accuracy & precision, and with the added bonus of speed. The drawings could be completed quicker, great for tight timelines, but this also translated into cost savings for our customers.

We now service customers across Canada and the United States. Fabricators of all sizes are taking advantage of our advanced services. The precision details provided simplifies their job of fabricating and the erection drawings are a real boon to erectors.
