A Message from the President…
 Jean-Paul Philippon is the founder and President of JP Drafting. He has been fabricating structural steel since 1972, and understands the business from the inside out.
“About 20 years ago, I saw what could be done by computerizing and became one of the first companies to adopt CAD for structural steel detailing. Eventually I adopted XSteel - a custom CAD program developed specifically for structural and ornamental steel, which has become an industry standard.
I saw how I could provide increased speed of delivery, with a higher degree of accuracy, all at a price that was very competitive. If I deliver a superior product: accurate and detailed drawings, then the fabricators and erectors will be in a better position to be competitive.”
The Drafting Team…
 Lucien Philippon is the Senior Steel Detailer and heads the team of drafting professionals that provide your detailed drawings. “Lou” has a background in metal fabrication, which is invaluable in his quest to provide first class drawings and in troubleshooting situations where the project designers may not have considered the practical aspects of their designs.
In addition to coordinating the projects within the company, Lou liaises with architects, engineers, fabricators and erectors to ensure that the projects come in on-time and on-budget. His extensive experience in the field allows him to provide common sense solutions to real-world problems.
All projects must meet with Lou’s strict guidelines of quality and workmanship. He is hands-on with the drafting and keeps his skills sharp through daily application.

As our business grows, so does our requirement for draftspersons. We hire people through work placement programs and provide training and sometimes our need is for detailers with substantial experience.
